I don’t talk about this topic too much on this blog, but today I’d spend a little bit of time talking about the idea of making money. The first thing you need to know is that I am not rich…yet. I am on the brink and it feels fantastic! It wasn’t very long ago that I discovered what is quite possibly the greatest secret in the world when it comes to wealth and happiness.
The first thing you must understand is that you don’t need money to be happy. To be happy you need money! Ok, just kidding. Seriously though, don’t ever think of money as something evil or wrong. The greatest secret to amassing wealth is first and foremost admitting to yourself that you deserve it.
There is SO much money in the world today, that in literally one day trillions of dollars change hands. One man rises, another falls, and that’s all before lunch. So, get out of your mind that it’s just too hard to make money. You see, the problem lies in deciding what you want out of life. Most of us settle for jobs that we don’t like or don’t want. We work because we have to, not because we want to.
I have been dealing with that for quite some time now, and that’s why I started doing what I want to do regardless of if I’m getting paid for it or not. That is why you are reading this blog. I don’t get paid to write this. I make a little bit off of Adsense, but not anything major. I write this blog because this is who I am. I am not a cell phone entrepreneur, though I do own cell phone businesses. For me, that sort of business is a means to an end.
I leverage my time by owning my own business and then make the best of that time by writing this blog, creating products, and meeting people that mentor me on my path towards financial independence. It is not always an easy road to follow, some nights I’m up really late and up again really early. But,
Sacrifice is the mark of any great achiever.
You can’t do as little as possible and expect to make lots of money. Money comes to those who work smart for it, not hard. Money comes to those that are ready to accept it. If you have a poverty mindset, money won’t be allowed to come to you. You are rejecting it. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true and I see it all the time.
I didn’t think I deserved money, and all I ever had was jobs. I worked at Subway, Wal-Mart, Nielsen Media Research, and a plethora of other jobs I didn’t particularly like. I found that having a job was a way to pay the bills, but not a way to make the kind of money I’d need to achieve the goals I wanted. And this is the great paradox.
It is easy to get a job and make money, but once you start on that path you begin to settle in to the routine. Doing this then creates an attitude of “enough”. By this I mean you begin thinking that you have enough money now, your car is ok, you pay your bills, take that trip every year. This can be this kiss of death to many a dreamer.
It almost happened to me. I could easily work 25 hours a week and make more money than most full time employees. But there is something inside me that drives me to want more. This is what you need to find. Ask yourself what you want out of life. If you want a job, then great! You can achieve that goal, if you haven’t already. Begin thinking about what you want to contribute to society in your free time.
If you want financial independence, you must determine that you deserve that wealth and free time. What would you do with it? Who would you help? What causes would you take up? Begin envisioning yourself having already achieved your goals, and you’re 75% there. The other 25% is simply making the right choices. Your subconscious will relay those choices to you by way of a “gut” feeling. When the opportunity knocks, you’ll know.
Here are the steps to making money:
1) Understand that making money isn’t hard
2) Admit that you are worthy to recieve the money
3) Set aside time to work on money making ideas
4) Determine what you’ll do with the money you’ll make
5) Write down your goals and “picture” them in your mind
6) Be consciously aware of what your “gut” is telling you
7) Finally, act on your gut and make sacrifices to achieve
I know these steps may seem a little bit out there, but they aren’t. By this time next year, I will have gained quite a large fortune and it’s not because I’m special or better than you. I decided that I deserve to live the life I want to live and that I will live that life as soon as I help enough people. That’s what it all comes down to in the end.
The more people you help, the greater your chances of financial success. That’s not why you help though. You help because there is a part of you that has to do it. There is a burning desire that carries you through each day. This desire to help others will be your guiding light.
In the near future, I’ll start talking about some potential businesses you can get involved in. You can always check out the health business I’m in, but it’s not for everybody. I don’t do too much with it, other than losing 24 pounds in a month off the weight loss product! There are other business opportunities out there, you just have to keep an open mind and be ready. I’ve heard it said that
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity
Someday you will know how true that is!
