I believe the greatest challenge any of us face is learning to cope with ourselves. What does that mean? Simply put, most of us have a problem accepting ourselves as important, smart, and worthy of the things we gain in life. Too many times we feel as if we aren’t allowed to enjoy our lives, that we need to suffer through each day because somehow that is what we deserve.
The only way to solve this crisis is to change the way you think. Don’t let yourself get bogged down with how you feel. Feelings are usually going to betray you and make you think less of yourself than you should.
Secondly, you’ve got to begin to act like someone important. It’s not just enough to say you are an important person, no, you’ve got to actually walk and talk like an important person. You’ve also got to respect yourself. If you don’t respect yourself, then no one else can either.
Too many people go through life wondering why they don’t get the breaks that other people get. They wonder why things don’t go their way. Why it seems so hard to get anywhere in life.
The first problem with that mindset is that it’s negative, it assumes an injustice. That is not the way you should approach life. Instead, approach life as a playing field where you completely control the outcome. You are the center of you, whether you like it or not. Only you have the power to make or break your life. No one else can.
A word I always come back to is action. Taking action is the best way to change your life. It sounds so simple, but it really is the secret of all successful people. Successful people take action while everyone else is waiting to decide what to do. Don’t be that sort of person. Think positive, act like you’ve already made it, and take action.
